On August 18, 2006, Yulista Management Services opened a new 14,000 square foot aviation hangar built by The Madison County Executive Airport Authority, to provide support joint venture work with Science and Engineering Services (SES), Inc. In 2002, these two companies formed Joint Venture Yulista and SES (JVYS) to provide engineering and technical support to the Prototype Integration Facility (PIF) located on Redstone Arsenal.
Over the last few years the PIF/JVYS team has become a major player in the modification of Army aircraft, including the AH-64 Apache, UH-60 Black Hawk and CH-47 Cargo helicopters. The hangar is designed to expand current PIF/JVYS aircraft modification capabilities to meet an ever increasing military demand.
JVYS is currently supporting the PIF by installing a variety of major modifications to military aircraft. The Apache PMO has contracted with JVYS to provide Engine Exhaust Enhancements to provide greater aircraft protection and mission reliability. The Army Airborne Command and Control System is being installed on Black Hawk helicopters to provide rapidly deployable, mobile, airborne command posts; Black Hawk Desert Modifications to harden aircraft for desert deployment; the Cargo/Black Hawk Integrated Mechanical Diagnostics Health and Usage Management System to manage replacement of aircraft components based on actual wear instead of designated intervals; and the C-26E Metroliner Global Air Traffic Mandates program to reduce pilot input and fatigue by improving cockpit flight management displays.
The JVYS Aviation Modification Team consists of fully qualified and licensed aircraft sheetmetal specialists, technicians, electricians and mechanics operating out of the JVYS Aviation Hangar to support local, national and overseas installations.
